"Golconda has granted Riley with a level of humanity that is unheard of in other Kindred: his gestures, his speech and his disposition are convincingly, eerily human, even more human that many other actual human beings. Unfortunately, Riley remains ultimately disconnected from both mankind and Kindred due to the enlightened state that he is in, as the perfection that he represents often intimidates others on a deep level. That, together with occasional shows of frightening power, further differentiate him from the rest of both the World of Light and the World of Darkness. The fact that he has been alive for countless of centuries aggravates this condition.

Riley appears to have a strong need to remain tethered to concerns both mortal and Kindred, perhaps as an acknowledgement of the fact that emotional distance is an affliction. The long periods that he has spent in torpor, however, makes this task even more difficult than it already is."
